In Surah Yasin(36:52-53), Allah, Al-Rahman (The Compassionate), in the preceding ayat, tells us that the Trumpet will be blown and the people will come forth from their graves, hastening to their Sustainer. In the beginning of Ayat52, we are told that they will say, “Oh! Woe to us! Who has raised us from our sleeping place?” Then they will say, “This is what The Compassionate promised and the Messengers spoke the Truth.” This single shout or blast makes us know that the raising of the dead and their appearance before Allah in His Court takes place suddenly, in a very short space of time. “The conclusive tone of these verses and the piercing influence of them in the…hearts is so effective that [it is] as if they hear this cry with their ears saying: ‘O…[people] who are asleep! O the scattered dusts! And O rotten bones! Stand up! Stand up! And be ready for Reckoning and recompense!’ How beautiful the verses of the Qur’an are and how expressive their warnings are!” Truly, Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala has promised us The Day of Resurrection and Judgement and He keeps His promise and the Messengers indeed spoke the Truth.
