In Surah Ali-Imran (3:8), Allah, Al-Wahhab (The Ever-Giver of Gifts), relates a beautiful dua recited by the believers who are firm in knowledge and have understanding. It is interesting that believers would ask Allah, The All Mighty, to not let their hearts deviate from the Right Path after Allah guided them to it. Those who have understanding know that shaitan (satan) works overtime, lying in wait for the believers to make a misstep. One of those is mentioned in the previous ayat – causing others to deviate from the truth through misunderstanding allegorical ayat and commenting on them or by doing it on purpose to create mischief and dissension so people will stray off the Right Path. So the believers seek refuge in Allah from the accursed shaitan and always keep death and the Day of Resurrection uppermost in their minds. They ask Allah to grant them Rahmah (Compassion) because Allah is Al-Wahhab (The Ever-Giver of Gifts).
