In Surah al-Qasas (28:24), Allah, Al-Barr (The Most Kind, The Doer of Goodness), in this ayat tells us that Prophet Musa, peace and blessings be upon him, called out to Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala in his time of need. Prophet Musa, peace and blessings be upon him, declared that he is indeed in need of whatever good his Sustainer, Al-Barr, gives him. This is the statement he made on his journey out of Egypt as a young man when he arrived at the crowded well in Madyan after he had assisted the two daughters of Prophet Shuyaib, peace and blessings be upon him, in getting water for their sheep. Prophet Musa was told by the daughters that they were unable to get water until all the men with their flocks of sheep got their fill and they had come to water their sheep because their father was an old man. The injustice they faced hurt Prophet Musa greatly and he reprimanded the shepherds and watered the daughters’ sheep for them. It is said that the well’s bucket was so large that it took ten men to bring it out of the well, but Prophet Musa was able to do it alone. And he was able to water the daughters’ sheep with only one load. And if you know the story of Prophet Musa, peace and blessings be upon him, Allah Al-Barr did indeed grant him an abundant good.
