In Surah al-Nasr (110:1-3), Allah, Al-Tawwab (The Guide to Repentance), proclaims that after Allah’s Nasr (Help) and Fath (Victory) comes, when we see the people entering fi Deeni L’lahi afwajan (into Allah’s Deen in crowds), we must glorify the praise of our Rabb (Sustainer) and ask for His forgiveness. These ayats are the whole surah besides the Bismillah and they contain the glad tidings of a great Fath for Islam and it comes only from Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala. The believers know this and that is why they glorify Al-Tawwab and ask for forgiveness. Indeed, Allah is The Off-Returning to Forgiveness, The Ever-Pardoning, The Ever-Accepting of Repentance. Al-Hamdulillah! The final goal, after all the barriers and hindrances to embracing Islam are removed, is people entering into Allah’s Deen, His Religion, His Way of Life, in multitudes, in crowds, in droves. The instructions for us are to celebrate, praise and ask forgiveness, all of which show our gratitude to Allah The Most High and our seeking of His protection from evil and the forces of Shaitan. We must do this because it is Only Allah Who is Oft-Returning to Forgiveness, The Guide to Repentance and we must forever be humble before, in service to and dependent on Him Who showers His Grace, Mercy, Help, Victory, Glory and Power on us and on the world.
