In Surah Ale-Imran(3:31), Allah, Al-Rauf (The Kind Giver, The Affectionate), instructs Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him and his family, to tell the people that if they love Allah, they should follow him. And then Al-Rauf will love them and forgive their sins. Allah is surely Ghafurun Rahimun (Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful). This ayatwas revealed about a group of Christians from Narjan who used to say, “We are the lovers of the Lord.” So Allah tells them that if they love truly love Him, then they should follow and obey the Prophet.
