In Surah al-Bayyinah (98:8), Allah, Al-Samad (The Eternal Satisfier of All Needs and Ultimate Goal), tells us in the previous ayat (see Tapestry #110) that the best of the creatures are those who believe and do righteous deeds. In this ayat, He explains that their reward is with Al-Samad in Jannatu ‘Aden (Gardens of Eternity) - Paradise -with flowing rivers in which they will abide forever. Al-Hamdulillah! Interestingly, ‘Aden is the Arabic word for the English word Eden. In Arabic, the ayn-dal-noon root means “to abide constantly, stay in (a place), remain, everlasting” – the place of eternity.
