In Surah Ibrahim (14:41), Allah, Al-Ghafur (The Forgiver and Hider of Faults), in this ayat we hear Prophet Ibrahim’s, peace and blessings be upon him, prayer to our Sustainer to forgive him and his parents and the believers on the Day of Judgement when the reckoning of our beliefs and deeds will take place. It is a dua that can be recited by everyone, inshallah. This ayat is one of seven ayats in this surah relating Prophet Ibrahim’s prayers. (See also Tapestry #119 & #120) “Establishing prayer is the center of Abraham’s (Prophet Ibrahim’s) (peace and blessings be upon him) calls. Keeping up prayers is a counterpart for leadership.” In the Holy Qur’an, we see that he prayed both for his generation and for the leadership of his generation.
