In Surah al-Ahzab(33:43), Allah, Al-Rahim (The Most Merciful), after, in the previous two ayats, telling us to remember Him always with much remembrance and glorify His Name in the morning and the evenings, declares that He is the One Who sends blessings upon the believers and the angels also send blessings on us so that He may bring us out of the darkness into the light. It is as if through our remembrance of Allah, He in turn remembers us and that is through the blessings bestowed upon us from on high. This darkness that Allah brings us out from is the darkness of Shaitan, the darkness of idolatry, infidelity, corruption, oppression, illusions, lust, temptations, ignorance, etc. and the light that we are led to is Allah’s Light, the light of faith, piety, knowledge, wisdom, certainty, domination of the self, etc. Then Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala states clearly that He is Most Merciful to the believers. Because Allah is Most Merciful, Benevolent and Compassionate to the believers, He has undertaken our guidance and leadership and sent his angels to help us and they implore Al-Rahim for our forgiveness (see Surah 40:7). It is certainly a glad tiding from our Sustainer that those who remember Allah much and glorify Him are never alone, but always walking in the path of Light with His Mercy and Help, along with the angels who are on our side, inshallah.
