In Surah al-Baqarah (2:132), Allah, Al-Salaam (The Peace), in this ayat tells us that Prophet Ibrahim, peace and blessings be upon him, enjoined the truth that Allah Rabbil-Alamin (Lord of the Worlds) has chosen the deen (way of life) for us which is submission to Him and that we must all submit and be Muslims. Then we hear Prophet Ibrahim’s, peace and blessings be upon him, command as a bequest to his children, the same command/bequest that his grandson Prophet Yaqub, peace and blessings be upon him, gave to his children, to continue on the Straight Path and die only as Muslims, people who submit to Allah, Al-Salam. “It seems that the Qur’an by stating the bequest of Abraham (as) (Prophet Ibrahim, peace and blessings be upon him) intends to reiterate the fact that you human beings are not only responsible for your children while they are with you but you are responsible for their futures, too…They enjoined on their “children to attain the secret of victory, success and happiness via this short phrase: ‘Submit to the Lord of the worlds.’” This is how Prophet Ibrahim, peace and blessings be upon him, spoke in ayat 131: “I have submitted to the Lord of the Worlds.” (See An Enlightening Commentary into the Light of the Holy Qur’an, Vol. 1, compiled by a group of Muslim scholars, under the direction of Ayatullah Allamah Al-Hajj Sayyid Kamal Faqih Imani, Accessed from https://www.al-islam.org/enlightening-commentary-light-holy-quran-vol-1/section-15#surah-al-baqarah-verses-130-132
