In Surah al-Najm (53:39-41), Allah, Al-Alim (The All-Knowing), relates to us that we reap the fruit of our efforts. Sa‘y means “move fast rather than run” and “strive, make effort.” When we are making effort, rapid movements are made whether our aim is doing righteous deeds or unrighteous ones. This means that our effort may not end in the fulfillment of of our goal, but rather only the fulfilment of our effort. However, if our intention is to do righteous deeds, Allah will grant our reward since we seek good intentions rather than fulfilled tasks. If we persevere in the fulfillment of our tasks not only will we soon receive the reward of our righteous deeds in full, but we will also reap further rewards. Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala says in Surah al-An’am (6:160) in the Holy Qur’an that for every righteous deed, we will receive ten rewards. Some believers and those who fear Allah will receive much more than that. Al-Hamdulillah.
